A Culture of Choosing Sobriety
Today marks the beginning of something bigger than an organisation. It is the birth of ac movement.
A movement built on hope, purpose and the simple but powerful belief that a person can live a full, meaningful and successful life without alcohol or drugs.
Welcome to Sober Beings
For too long, society has celebrated drinking as a normal part of life. Too often, alcohol is presented as the answer to celebration, stress, heartbreak, success and even failure.
We have created a culture where refusing alcohol sometimes requires more explanation than drinking it.
Sober Beings seeks to change that.
Our message is simple: Sobriety is NOT a punishment it is a lifestyle worth celebrating.
Many people believe that one has to become addicted, lose everything, recover, and only then discover the value of sobriety. But why should anyone have to walk through pain before discovering the beauty of a sober life?
The truth is that many people never recover from alcoholism or substance abuse. Some lose their families. Some lose their careers. Some lose their health. Tragically, some lose their lives.
Recovery is possible, and we honour every person who fights that difficult battle. But recovery is never guaranteed.
That is why we believe the greatest victory is not only recovering from addiction it is preventing addiction from taking hold in the first place.
A human being can live a prosperous, joyful and fulfilled life without ever knowing the taste of alcohol or the influence of drugs. That life is possible, and it deserves to be recognised, respected and celebrated.
Sober Beings exists to build a culture where sobriety is something to be proud of.
Let us be clear about who we are…
Sober Beings is not a rehabilitation centre.
We are not a treatment programme, and we do not replace the invaluable work done by rehabilitation facilities, healthcare professionals and addiction specialists. Those who are struggling with alcohol or substance dependence should be encouraged to seek professional help from qualified rehabilitation services.
